Pail
Closing Systems are available for virtually any size and style lid -
either as stand alone units or otherwise integrated with the filling
equipment. The inclined magazine design with cam mechanisms provide
ample storage and denests the leading lid and dispenses it into a lid
chute. Lids with pour spouts or bung fitments are also rotated to provide
consistent orientation. The filled pail then engages the lid's flange
and pulls it free from the lid chute mechanism. The lids are held captive
during the engagement process and immediately enter the overhead (direct
motor driven) belt/roller compression section. Lids are firmly pressed
onto the pails while in transit.
For
multi station inline filler applications (where the pails are discharged
in multiples) the lid chute is extended to provide a continuous supply
of lids as appropriate. Also, the distance between the lid placement
mechanism and the overhead compression section may be lengthened to
permit stopping the conveyor for missing or misaligned lids before entering
the compression zone. The options are numerous, and it is always our
policy to request lid and pail samples to assure equipment compatibility.
